I have had some bitter experiences with my resources, and have “lost” a number of valuable resources costing me hundreds of dollars. I have now decided to only give women leaflets, downloaded web sites, and photocopies of things I think women would like to read, rather than my own personal books etc.

As well as the standard information about diet, food safety, contraception, vitamin K etc I use the following resources according women’s individual needs, literacy and access to the Internet:

NZGG guidelines – breech and VBAC
Maggie Banks – Breech birth: woman wise; Home birth
NICE guidelines: Induction of labour, fetal monitoring, caesarean section, ante natal care
NZCOM consensus statements: GBS screening, VBAC, screening for gestation diabetes etc
NZAPEC – why blood pressure is checked in pregnancy
AIMS – delivering your placenta: the third stage
http://www.nzblood.co.nz – Your guide to blood transfusion/anti D
